Fresh News: "Emotional ako, naiiyak ako kasi tinanong ko siya kanina (before the game), sabi ko, 'Kuya, last mo na 'to?' tapos sumagot siya, 'Yeah,", said Scottie Thompson referring to Jayjay Helterbrand.

"Naging emotional ako, nalulungkot ako, para sa kanya 'to," he added

It was the statement of sophomore Scottie Thompson, Helterbrand's teammate when interviewed after the game by sportswriters waiting outside the dugout of the winning team as they, the Gin Kings finished off Meralco, with a an ending score of 101-96, in Game Seven of their finals rematch that concluded a successful title defense of the PBA Governors’ Cup.

But despite of the victory and happiness that the Ginebra team had last night, most of them felt that
Jayjay is finally saying goodbye.

It can be recalled that minutes after the final buzzer that indicated the end of Game Seven, Jayjay Helterbrand was very happy and looked very delighted amidst his teammates at midcourt.

This PBA championship is Jayjay's sixth and the second consecutive Governors Cup title for
Ginebra.

He also won the league's MVP award in 2009 and gave the Ginebra team the "never say die" spirit together with his tandem and best friend Mark Caguioa, the fantastic duo that were tagged as " The Fast and The Furious".

Nonetheless, Jayjay Helterbrand who is now 41 years old and almost nearing his 17th season of his basketball career was in no hurry to make any declaration if he will retire or not, in spite of many speculations that he will soon take a career's rest.

During an interview last night, Helterbrand said that he wants to enjoy and cherish this latest championship first and does not want to think of making any decisions on his career for the time being.

"Wala, celebrate muna," he said after coming out from Ginebra's locker room.

Indeed, Jayjay will be considered as one of the team's greatest player, regardless if he will retire or not and after all, the spirit of "The Fast" will flow in the hearts of Barangay Ginebra.

Once again, Congratulations Gin Kings!
