Fresh News: After a sworn statement signed by accused drug cartel Ricky Serenio saying that Drilon and Roxas, members of Liberal Party were protectors of Melvin Odicta Sr., an alleged "drug lord"who was shot dead last August this year at the Caticlan Jetty Port in Aklan, the two LP called the accusation "baseless"

According to LP, allegations of Serenio is baseless and without substance. They also said that the present government has a tendency of producing "witnesses" who are not credible and has ambiguous
record and character, just like what had happened to Senator Leila de Lima who has been arrested in February because of alleged involvement in drug trade.

De Lima was put to jail because of testimonies and statements of other convicted prisoners against her.

It appears this administration has the habit of manufacturing 'witnesses' who have questionable record and reputation, just like what it did to Senator Leila de Lima, who is now languishing in jail due to testimonies of convicted criminals serving jail sentences.", the LP said.

The Liberal Party also said that rather than "swallowing the words of the so-called bagman and wasting time," the administration should focus on catching the fugitive who is responsible for the P6.4-billion worth of shabu that squeeze by the port inspections last May.

LP President, Sen. Francis Pangilinan in another interview told that the allegations were created to deflect the mind of the public from the drug-related killings and shabu smuggling controversy and added that the Department of Justice ( DOJ ) should stop constructing proof to hold down their critics or free their allies.

On the other note, the Palace said the the administration has nothing to do with the attestation of Ricky Serenio who labeled Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas in the Visayas' illegal drug trade.

Ernesto Abella, Presidential Spokesman also pronounced that the Liberal Party is just “afraid of its own ghost” for saying that the Government was "going all-out to demonize" their party and "divert attention" from urgent matters.

Abella said in a statement, "The administration has nothing to do with the testimony of a drug cartel bagman Mr. Ricky Serenio implicating Senator Franklin Drilon and former secretary Mar Roxas to the illegal drug trade in the Visayas,”

"The Liberal Party is afraid of its own ghost after conducting several witch hunt investigations against their perceived political enemies when they were in power.”

More so, upon seeing that Serenio's affidavit may be presented as a complaint, a preliminary investigation might be administered, according to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II.

  1. Hush para di nyo gawain yan nung nasa power pa kayo. Ano palang nangyari kay Corona na you accused the Chief Justice on trumped up charges which caused his untimely death. Ngayon reklamo kayo kahit na merong signed affidavit galing mismo sa isang druglord.
