President Duterte Makes a Cameo Appearance in "The Simpsons"

Fresh News: President Rodrigo Roa Duterte makes a cameo role in the currently released "The Simpsons", an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of working-class life, epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa , and Maggie.

Watchers of the show can recognize a confined photo, that awkward ASEAN handshake between Pres. Duterte & US Pres.Trump in a scene where US Attorney General Jeff Sessions takes Mueller to the Trump tower, where Trump promptly drops $750 million as a bribe. The framed photograph can be seen behind the US President.

The photograph demonstrates the viral clumsy handshake amid the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit, where Pres. Trump experienced difficulty making sense of where to put his hands. Beside him was Pres. Duterte.

It can be recalled that US Pres.Trump was standing on stage at the Manila summit alongside leaders including Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc when they crossed their arms for a traditional group handshake and shows the U.S. president looked slightly bewildered as everyone else around him took hands.

At first, he grabbed Xuan Phuc’s hand with both of his. Then, a couple of seconds and a few funny faces later, Trump realized his mistake and switched his hands over to join in with the group shake.

The two-minute video closes with a house aide who uncovers herself as the Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico Carmen Yulin Cruz vacuuming the cash. "At long last, Puerto Rico gets a break," as she gathers the bills.

The video was uploaded on twitter and has since been seen more than 300,000 times.
