Fresh News
: After being in the spotlight when she got the Thomasian Alumni Award for Government Service from the UST Alumni Association Inc. (where she has returned the award following substantial reactions from netizens), Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson once again went viral.

Uson's mistake over Mayon Volcano's location in Naga, Camarines Sur rather than Albay
quickly turned into a web sensation and propelled images via web-based networking media, with some netizens requiring her resignation..

Mocha has since apologized for her mistake and said that she was really sorry that she erroneously located the Mayon volcano in Naga.

She also said that she really finds it funny that the issue has become trending and has been on news and headlines, but when it comes to other issues like Dengvaxia and the death of Atio Castillo, ( a freshman law student at the University of Santo Tomas who died after attending the "welcoming rites" of the Aegis Juris fraternity in UST), the people were silent.

On Sunday, January 28, 2018, Martin Andanar, Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary, safeguarded his subordinate Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson for conferring the said mistake.

In a radio interview and asked about the shouts for Ms Uson's resignation after her current mistake,
Andanar said Ms. Uson's confusion was accidental and the error she made was not in anyway related to her job and her dedication to the government and the people as far as public service is concern.

"Well, alam mo naman eh nagkamali 'yung tao, hindi naman sinasadya at ito naman ay malayo sa ano, sa kumbaga sa dedikasyon ng tao sa gobyerno at sa mamamayan in terms of public service," Andanar said .

Be that as it may, Andanar added that people in general has its entitlement to express their sentiments in regards to the issue and those who are calling for Ms. Uson's resignation has all the right to express their opinions.

"Yung mga kababayan natin na nanawagan na magbitiw, of course meron din silang karapatan na maghayag ng kanilang saloobin." PCOO Sec. ended.
