Fresh News: As part of President Rodrigo Duterte's campaign against illegal drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director Aaron Aquino then revealed that there are right around 300 barangay officials connected to illegal drugs.

Hence, because of this, all barangay officials are likewise required to present an inventory of their barangay's supplies and equipment so the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) can screen their utilization of open assets.

Martin Diño, DILG undersecretary for barangay affairs , who is also a former barangay captain, then revealed on Saturday that right now there all almost nine thousand (9,000) barangay chiefs on President Duterte's ‘narco-list.

He made this declaration 2 months before the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections and cautioned barangay officials that there will be 'no forever' in the barangay anymore.

"Wala nang forever sa barangay." Diño blurted.

Diño additionally admonished barangay officials and said that it is mandatory for them to submit their respective barangay drug watch-lists by March 21 and failure to do so will result to possible suspension and worst, removal from office.

"Tama ang ating chief of PDEA. Ang mga hindi magsa-submit dito, 'yung mga directly involved. Kailangan within a week mag-submit sila kung hindi sila magsa-submit, warning. On the second week, suspension na. On the third week, subject for removal from office," he exclaimed.

He said that the president is determined to take an immediate actions to those barangay captains that are directly involved and DILG will definitely take the biggest part to address the issue.

"Desidido si president. Hawak niya 9,000 na barangay captains directly involved 9,000 na kapitan. Definitely gagalaw na ang DILG most especially sa issue na 'yan," Usec. Diño said.

Diño then warned that he will not just released the list of the names of the barangay officials but rather he will remove them immediately to office and added that he prefer for the accused to be charged and go to jail.

"Hindi lang ilalabas, tatanggalin ko na lang sila, mas gusto kong makasuhan, mabulok sila sa kulungan dahil, unang-una, pinagkatiwalaan sila ng mga tao tapos ganito gagawin nila, magmamalabis sila," he added.

To show that he is serious to take his action on the said issue, DILG Usec. Martin Diño then displayed his willingness to do his job and shared a post of a Duterte supporter on his Facebook account and said that since the President trusted him and mandated him to reinstate barangay officials to fulfill their duty and punish those who are abusive, he will then do the right thing whoever and whatever it may take.
