Fresh News: On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte openly stated in a speech, that if ever, he is open to accept politicians from other parties to his camp, in as much as those politicians are well meaning and not associated in any corruption.


According to President Duterte, it is already a normal and usual habit in Philippine politics to convene to the side of the winner and it's ok with him.


Likewise, the President said that it will not be the politician's fault granted that he or she will decide to be with his party since that is the culture of politics, to move to the winner's camp, in light of the fact that they need to help.

It’s not your fault that you are with me. Because that is the culture of politics everywhere, that whoever wins, people move to his side, even the incumbent mayors, because you want to help,” President Duterte uttered.




He also clarified that it's not by any stretch of taking advantage, yet rather, that is extremely the governmental practice of the circumstances.


"So sometimes, it’s not really opportunism, but rather, that is really the politics of our times,” he said.


PRRD then specified that on his situation, he would be grateful if ever he could get the help of numerous individuals, even those who campaigned for his opponents like, Jejomar Binay, Sen. Grace Poe and Mar Roxas before.

He additionally said that it will no longer matter to him if that someone was with him or not, has helped him or not, because those times are over and he already won the presidency.


Whether we were together, or you did not help me, you were with Binay, with Grace, I don’t care, even if you were with Mar. That’s over… I won. That’s why I keep quiet,” President Duterte ended.
