"Oplan Tokhang Continues to be Bloodless, Hundreds More Surrendered." - PNP

Fresh News: On Friday, March 16, 2018, Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, Philippine National Police (PNP)'s spokesperson, said that more than three hundred suspected drug personalities across the country surrendered to authorities in a duration of one week as PNP's Oplan Tokhang continues to be bloodless.

Bulalacao announced that a sum of 4,548 drug surrenderers were recorded by the Directorate for Operations (PNP-DO) as of March 12, a striking increment from the 4,237 surrenderers as of March 5.

It can be recalled that PNP’s primary anti-illegal drugs campaign, the Oplan Double Barrel Reloaded, consisted of the Oplan HVT (upper barrel) and Oplan Tokhang (lower barrel), was again set in motion in December 2017, after it was requested ceased by President Duterte because of allegations of police abuse.

He said the Northern Mindanao Regional Police Office (PRO-10) had the most number of operations with 1,016 Tokhang activities and 529 drug surrenderers, trailed by the Central Luzon Police Regional Office (PRO-3) with 1,005 Tokhang activities and 656 drug surrenderers.

Then again, Bulalacao said that 12,185 drug identities were captured while the death count of drug suspects moved up to 118 in Oplan HVT (high-value target) or the PNP's "hard approach" in war on drugs as of March 5.

He then additionally said that through the Directorate for Intelligence (DI), the PNP were able to disclosed drug personalities contained in the validated drugs watch list.
