Spox Roque to De Lima on CJ Sereno's Trial: "Libreng Mangarap. Manood na lang sya ng TV!"

Fresh News: "Manood na lang sya ng TV."

These are the words spoken at a press briefing in MalacaƱang on Monday by Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque as he opposed Senator Leila de Lima's intention to request that the courts enable her to take part in the arraignment trial of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

The spox then firmly said that De Lima can just watch the trial on TV if the latter has a TV in jail, and added that the detained senator can just dream of it since dreaming is free anyway.

My advice to her: libreng mangarap. Manood na lang siya ng TV kung meron siyang TV sa kulungan,” Spox Roque said.

It has been said that De Lima's idea came in front of the House justice committee’s vote this week on whether there is reasonable justification to lift the indictment protestation documented against Sereno by legal advisor Lorenzo "Larry" Gadon to the Senate, which is ordered to govern on the offer to expel her from office.

With the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Sereno at the Senate approaching, Senator Leila de Lima said she would look for the court's endorsement for her to depart her cell at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame to enable her to participate in the trial as a senator judge.

Senator Leila de Lima is as of now kept in Camp Crame, Quezon City, on charges that she permitted the illicit drug trade to multiply inside the New Bilibid Prisons when she was Justice secretary in return for cash reserves for her senatorial campaign in 2016.

But ever since her detainment on February 24 a year ago, De Lima has fought that her status as an elected official should confine her arraignment to the discretion of the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan and repeatedly denied the accusations hurled at her.
