New York University alumna, social media personality and well-known writer, Krizette Laureta Chu, once again fired a powerful shot and wrote a very striking opinion this time regarding ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.

This opinion of Krizette follows the journalists and celebrities on-ground and online signature campaign petitioning that Congress renew ABS-CBN’s franchise, which is set to expire in just a little over two months.

Krizette, who is known for being fearless in speaking her mind over various political issues, expressed her dismay and said that the network does not have to complicate things, but rather, just pay their taxes right.

She likewise gave emphasis to the unfair fact that while ordinary employees with minimum wage earners pay their taxes properly, big companies like ABS-CBN is doing otherwise.

"Are these celebrities asking us to look the other way?

Read her very powerful Facebook post below:

"As the renewal of franchise for ABS CBN looms, it’s gone full offensive, asking its most beloved celebrities to sign and push petitions for its franchise renewal.

So much propaganda when they could just pay their taxes right?

ABS CBN went into an agreement with the BIR that they will just pay 40 percent (compromise agreement) of their utang. (*ISA PA TONG BIR. So ABS CBN exhibits “inability to pay” the full amount and/or the amount quoted is not legit?)

Di ko talaga ma gets.

Are these celebrities asking us to look the other way?

Yung mga nag nag Jeep papasok ng work, yung mga nag bebedspace lang ng malapit sa work nila, yung mga naka tayo all day, yung mga normal ABS CBN employees—sila pa talaga ang hini hingan nyo ng sakripisyo while you live in your mansions and drive your expensive cars?

Parang mali? Where’s your sense of social justice when it’s your way of life that’s threatened?

It stings because these celebs earn millions, and they want normal people who earn minimum wage to not fight for big companies to pay proper tax that will go to building a better PH.

I mean, ABSCBN doesn’t have to complicate the issue, just pay your tax RIGHT. I know it’s showbiz, but this is just too much drama for something so fixable.

All these drama about ABS CBN legacy, jobs to be lost, WHEN IN THE FIRST PLACE IT WAS TRYING TO FOOL THE GOVERNMENT BY NOT PAYING ITS TAX RIGHT. And not the Duterte government—but all the governments that let it pass in fear of powerful media retribution. (ALLEGEDLY, I'm not BIR .)

Parang unfair naman ata that celebrities who have no idea about the daily grind of people who pay their taxes right demand something from their followers when they could just turn around and ask their network to pay the proper tax. So much entitlement.

WHERE’S THE FUCKING OUTRAGE, WOKE PEOPLE. Where are you, Reds? Where are you, communists who deplore abusive capitalists?

  4. Ms. Chu, why don't you ask your president and the speaker of the house to start the hearing of the bills? Are they afraid that they won't be able to prove their allegations? Also, why would BIR name ABS-CBN as a top tax payer if they don't pay their taxes?
