On Thursday, March 12, 2020, President Rodrigo Duterte announced tougher measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including work and class suspensions as well as travel restrictions, as part of a "community quarantine" in Metro Manila.

Land, domestic air and domestic sea travel to and from Metro Manila will allegedly be suspended from March 15, 2020 until April 14, 2020.

Netizens, mainstream media, known personalities were then quick to react their opinions and viewpoints regarding the latest pronouncement of the President.

Some expressed their full approval and support for the safety of all, but of course, there are those haters and critics who continue to attack the 'old man' to discredit his decisions once again.

One of which is Filipino journalist, TV and radio broadcaster, Karen Davila, who after President Duterte's announcement, tweeted and questioned the latter's decision.

"The President means well. My question is by imposing a domestic travel lockdown in Metro Manila for 1 month, it means he also can't go back to Davao?", she tweeted.

This tweet did not sit well with other netizens and found it very insulting on the part of the President.

That is why, one of them fully expressed their dismay to Davila, replied to her tweet and reprimanded the broadcaster. The netizen is Carlo de Leon, also a known blogger and social media influencer.

"Come on Karen. You can do better than that. Of course, Duterte can travel to Davao. For heaven's sake, he's the president.", he replied.

He also shared a post on Facebook, saying that Davila's tweet was not funny at all and lectured the broadcaster for allegedly not learning the constitution.

"Karen Davila, a supposedly veteran journalist, makes a very elementary and sophomoric mistake by trying to be witty about the recent Metro Manila lockdown (community quarantine) pronouncements of Duterte.

It’s not funny Karen. The jokes on you. The president is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces of the Philippines, he is free to travel all over the county to do his job.

Read the constitution Karen, you have a lot to learn."
