Singer-Songwriter and Duterte Supporter on Anti-Terror Bill: "It's Scary Now.."

Singer-Songwriter Richard Poon | President Rodrigo Duterte | CTTO
After the new anti-terrorism bill was approved by lawmakers on Friday, May 29, 2020, Filipinos quickly took to social media to criticize Congress for it's hurried passage of the bill, that will allegedly authorize basic human rights violations in the country.

But while some are opposing the said bill, others are also in favor of it and said that critics should “read the bill” first to see that there are actually “enough safeguards in place.”

Likewise, others, though in favor of anti-terror bill, choose not to say it bluntly, but rather prefer to tell real life experiences of people who had 'FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCES' with the NPA and its alleged threats and fears to parents and families of kids that they assertedly want to recruit.

One of which is Mr. Richard Poon, a Chinese Filipino singer-songwriter, and a well-known Duterte supporter, who in a recent social media post, concur a story from a certain Joan Malotskie, who according to him, had an alleged direct contact with the NPA and the likes.

He too correspondingly, recall an account with a businessman, who allegedly had a bad encounter with the communist party. A man who as per him hated President Duterte before, but because of the latter's way of handling communist insurgency and terrorism, had a change of heart.

Below is Mr. Poon's full post:

"IT’S SCARY NOW…..(ANTI-TERROR BILL thoughts)

————————————————————

Joan Malotskie:

I am replying to somebody here saying that it's scary daw(anti-terrorism bill)..

It was scarier back in the 1980s..

I remember my Aunt reading me bible stories in the room....

kasi yung Mother ko nasa sala talking to the terrorists (NPAs) who wants to recruit my older siblings.. (nakakatanda kong mga kapatid)

Imagine if u were a mother back then……. who gets regular visits from them, complete with guns & grenades placed in front of you para takotin ka,

imagine the fear & anxiety na baka kidnapin ang mga anak mo..

Yun ang scary..

pero tama, scary pa rin til now…..

kasi they're STILL RECRUITING.

RP:

True Joan, when you have (1ST)FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE on recruitment of your kids,

or FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCES on regular threatening visits on your provincial businesses, taunting you to giving them regulary MONEY(revolutionary tax)...

mag-iiba ang tingin natin and biases natin on the NPA effect.

—-

I remember one really strong anti-Duterte businessman(in the province) who called the President, “DU-DIRTY! DU-DIRTY!!!!”…

He really hated PDuts…

but later after Marawi incident, when DU30 imposed MARTIAL LAW in his BUSINESS AREA, (which MANY METRO MANILA ANTI-DU30 peeps accused as ABUSE OF POWER, THE SIGNS OF A DICTATOR, TYRANT....)

BUT SURPRISINGLY, ANG EFFECT IS OPPOSITE(baliktad)

The NPAs who regularly taunted them(tinakot) sila to give monthly money to them.. .

SUDDENLY DISAPPEARED.....

the anti-DU30 businessman suddenly changed gears----

"Ah... ok naman pala itong si Duterte...."

——

Hahaha:)

Truly that is HUMAN NATURE noh?

WE TRULY BELIEVE WE ARE PASSIONATELY RIGHT AND UNBIASED,

but we can CHANGE SUDDENLY........

ONLY IF IT AFFECTS US GREATLY & DIRECTLY FOR PERSONAL BENEFIT/GAIN...

or we also can change opinion because of PERSONAL LOSS(bankruptcy/ loss of job/loss of projects/loss of income).”
